Course Description

High-quality resuscitation skills are critical to improving survival rates in cases of cardiac arrest or life-threatening emergencies. In healthcare settings, every second counts, and staff must be prepared to act quickly, confidently, and in line with current guidelines. It is a core professional responsibility for healthcare workers to recognise early signs of deterioration, initiate life-saving interventions, and work effectively as part of a resuscitation team.

Recent reviews of emergency care incidents have highlighted the vital role that prompt, effective Basic Life Support (BLS) plays in patient outcomes. While the fundamental principles of resuscitation remain constant, regular training is essential to maintain competence, as techniques and recommended practices continue to evolve. This CSTF-aligned Level 2 course ensures that healthcare professionals have the knowledge and skills to perform safe, effective adult and paediatric BLS in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
